今回の英会話
25歳の女性なら誰かとデートした経験があるかもしれません。でも、この映画のAlana はデートしたことがないのでは？ という描かれ方をしています。
というわけで、今回は「初デート」について下記のいずれかを選んで話してみましょう！
人生初のデートについて
誰かとの初デートについて
下記のような表現を使って質問してみましょう
How old were you?（それは何歳の頃でしたか？）
Where did you go and what did you do?（どこへ行って何をしましたか？）
Did you have a nice time, or was it awkward?（それは素敵なデートだった？ それとも気まずいデート？）
Did you and that person continue to go on dates, or did you lose interest in each other after that date?（その後もその人とのデートは続きましたか？ それともそれっきり？）
使える表現 : in the business of
今回の場面より
Gary : You should start your own business.（商売を始めなよ）
Alana : What business should I be in?（どんな商売？）
Gary : I don’t know. What do you like?（そうだな… 好きなことは何？）
Alana : I don’t know. (分かんない)
Gary : You’re an actress. You should be an actress.(女優だよ 女優になるといい)
最後のGaryのセリフはこう言い換えることができます
You should be in the business of acting.
… in the business of … は
仕事の「領域、範囲、部門、分野、業界」
仕事の「目的」
について言及するときに使う表現です。
例1：She is in the business of acting.
= She is an actress. Being an actress is her job. She works in the field of acting.（女優です／女優の仕事です／芝居の世界で働いています）
例2：She is in the business of acting.
= The purpose of her work is to entertain people.（人や聴衆を楽しませるのために働いています）
アクティビティ 1（言い換え問題）
下記の例文は、上記の例1または例2のどちらかに該当するでしょうか？両方に該当する場合もあるかもしれません。また、言い換えるとしたらどう表現しますか？
They are in the business of door-to-door sales.
Public libraries are in the business of providing information to the public.

文法
My mom works for me.（ママは僕の社員なんだ）
今回の場面でGary が言うセリフです。どんな仕事をしているかworkを使って表現するとき、組み合わせる前置詞によって意味は変わります。よく使われるのが次の3つです。
work at / work for / work in.
work at : 働いている（物理的な）場所について言う場合
I work at Media Ship. （新潟日報メディアシップで働いています）
I work at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.（ANA クラウンプラザホテルで働いています）
I work at the Minami Bandai Tsutaya.（新潟南万代TSUTAYAで働いています）
work for：（雇用主）勤務先についていう場合
I work for Niigata City.（新潟市に勤めています）
I work for Harashin.（原信に勤めています）
I work for my father-in-law.（義父の会社に勤めています）
I work for myself.（自営業です）
work in : 働いている（物理的な）場所、市・区といった広域のエリア、部屋・オフィスといった狭い特定の場所、または業界などについて言う場合
I work in Media Ship. (maybe doing private work at an available table on the second floor or the observation deck) (新潟日報メディアシップにあるフリースペース [ 2階や展望フロア ] で私的な仕事をしています）
I work in Osaka twice a month.（月に2回は大阪で働いています）
I work at home in my office.（自宅オフィスで働いています）
I work at the City Office in room 401.（市役所の401号室で働いています）
I work in education.（教育に関わる仕事に就いています）
I work in the education industry.（教科書、教材、教具関連の業界で働いています）
